Transgressing Gender in the Bible
November 2, 2014 @ Living Table United Church of Christ, Minneapolis
Created and Performed by Peterson Toscano
Presented in Partnership with Living Table UCC
In his one-person play, "Transfigurations: Transgressing Gender in the Bible", theatrical performance activist Peterson Toscano draws on inspiration from interviews with transgender and gender non-conforming individuals, and weaves their experiences into the stories of transgender and gender-variant people from the Hebrew and Christian scriptures. Hilarious and moving, Toscano's one-person show deepens well-known (and lesser-known) Bible stories as he presents an array of characters with an array of genders.
